Different types of braces
Did you know that there are hundreds of types of braces? Viechnicki Orthodontics specializes in braces that move teeth quickly, are comfortable, and make it easy for you to keep your teeth healthy.
We offer clear braces, metal braces, and self-ligating braces. Oh, and we have colors, too — you can choose from over 500 color combinations at each visit.
We also offer Invisalign® for teens and adults.
How long does it take?
Crooked teeth can be straightened quickly with braces. You will see improvement within the first 3 months, but the total time of treatment depends on a variety of factors.
At your first visit, the Drs. Viechnicki will estimate how long it will take to improve your smile. You can schedule an appointment for an in-office consultation with an orthodontist in Bethlehem or Kutztown, Pennsylvania.
How old do you have to be to get braces?
Dr. Viechnicki starts seeing his patients when they are 7 years old, but you are never too old to get braces. Adults deserve a great smile, too.
That means your child should have an orthodontic consultation before middle school. If your child missed her early orthodontic screening, please schedule a free consultation by calling (610) 865-4333.
Orthodontists are specialists — the Drs. Viechnicki were educated two years beyond dental school to predict and direct facial growth and development. Every 7 year old child should be evaluated by an orthodontist, and the evaluation is especially important for families with unusually small or large chins.
What about orthognathic surgery?
In a small percentage of patients, crooked teeth are only part of the problem. Sometimes, the teeth do not fit together well because the bones of the face do not fit together well. In most young patients, the bones can be guided into proper position with braces.
For the 1% of patients with true skeletal disharmonies, orthognathic surgery is the best option. The Drs. Viechnicki work with the most respected oral and maxillofacial surgeons in the region to achieve dramatic esthetic and functional improvements.
